Tracy Lynn Lopez

Tracy Lynn Lopez, 51, of Turtle Lake was called to the Lord Almighty suddenly after a short illness on November 23, 2020. She was born on April 30, 1969 in Fridley, MN to David and Saundra “Joni” (Ball) Holtz. In 2004, she gave birth to a daughter named Makayla. In 2006, she was united in marriage to Carlos Lopez in North St. Paul.
Tracy was a fun-loving firecracker who would light up the room with her personality and laugh. She loved to talk and would talk with anyone. She had an infectious laugh that was usually followed with a snort. Tracy loved spending time with family and friends and especially cherished the time she had with her precious baby, Makayla. Tracy and Makayla enjoyed trips to the Como Zoo, supporting Turtle Lake Athletics, doing craft projects, listening to music, venturing out to go shopping, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, spending time with their bird, and being very involved with the Parkview United Methodist Church.
Generous and full of fun, Tracy was fast to welcome new and old friends with a smile and a hug. She took great pride at her job at the St. Croix Casino and Hotel, where she worked for over twelve years. She established many relationships with her co-workers and casino patrons. Her presence there will be greatly missed.
Tracy had many talents but truly had a special gift with children. She loved God and had deep faith that guided her life. She loved being a Sunday school teacher and teaching the word of God. She was very crafty with beautiful penmanship and loved to sing. She also had a green thumb and was able to grow many African violets and various houseplants.
She was a beloved mom, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by countless people. She had the biggest heart that always thought of others before herself.
Tracy is survived by her daughter, Makayla, biological sister Stacy (John Flake) Holtz, her godmother Jaylene Cash along with many stepsisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother Saundra (Joni) Holtz, her father David Holtz, her stepmother Bonnie Holtz, her godfather Glen Cash and grandparents.
The family thanks all well-wishers and loved ones for respecting and honoring Tracy and her family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers or plants, a memorial has been established with Dairy State Bank. Please make checks to “Lopez Memorial Fund.” They can be dropped off at the Turtle Lake location through the drive thru or mailed directly to the bank at PO Box 25, Turtle Lake, WI 54889.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a private funeral service on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Adam Woods officiating. The service will be live streamed via Parkview UMC: Turtle Lake, WI Facebook page. The family and friends will be planning a Celebration of Life in the future after Covid-19 subsides.
