John (Jack) Harold Feidt

John Harold (Jack) Feidt, 65, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 17, 2021.  He was born September 20, 1955, as the youngest of three children of Harold and Eleanor (Blechinger) Feidt.
His early years were spent in the Wisconsin towns of New Auburn, Madison, and Turtle Lake. Following high school, Jack spent many years crisscrossing the United States hauling household goods and freight with his Peterbilt truck.  Other jobs included road construction, hauling logs, and working in the oil fields near Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.  He delighted in telling stories of the frigid work up on the “slope.”
Jack loved his adopted state of Montana and his home near Trout Creek.  He would frequently tell friends and family members about the number of elk he counted on his property, or the signs of bear in the nearby woods, or the day he saw a young mountain lion.  Above all, he loved the solitude and peace of the outdoors.
Jack also loved his family.  In later years, he would have near daily phone conversations with his mother as well as weekly calls to his sister and brother.  Jack always wanted to hear how his nieces and nephews were doing.  He often made the long drive back to Wisconsin to be with family members, once even doing so on his Harley-Davidson.
Jack is survived by his brother David (Donna) Feidt; brother-in-law Robert Peterson; nephews Jon Peterson, David Peterson, and Ryan Feidt; nieces Jennifer Wehrenberg and Ana Hoban.  He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Peterson.
