COVID Variants Confirmed in Barron County
On March 31, Barron County Public Health was alerted of several confirmed cases of the COVID-19 variant, B.1.1.7. This strain of COVID-19 has been shown to spread more quickly and is associated with a higher rate of death. “The number of daily cases coming in has slowed down, which is great, but it is also creating a false sense of security in the community, said Health Officer Laura Sauve.
