Hunter Successful on Mountain Lion
A rural Turtle Lake resident was able to visit the border wall separating the United States from Mexico on a recent mountain lion hunt in Arizona. Hunting with Diamond Outfitters, Colton was able to find success on the first day of a three day hunt while hunting with his father, Kevin, and two houndsmen. Unfortunately for Kevin that was the only cat to be taken. “We hunted on horseback with dogs, which was a lot of fun in some beautiful, but rugged country. To add to the experience, we were able to see the border wall close up and witness many immigrant travel routes that resembled a heavily used hiking trail.” Arizona Fish and Game estimated the lion to be 8-9 years old.
