JOHN WARLAND

John L. Warland age 75 of Prairie Du Chein, WI formally of Turtle Lake, WI, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday February 5, 2023.

He was born in Turtle Lake, WI on January 10, 1948, the son of Buster Warland and Louise (Johnson) Warland. He grew up in Turtle Lake and graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1966. He then completed one year at Concordia University before going to serve two terms in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home he became a police officer. He served as an officer for many years, including serving as Chief of Police of Turtle Lake for a majority of it.

John enjoyed woodworking, gardening, flowers, and bird watching.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Darla Carter, and 7 children, Chris Warland, Billie Warland (Mark),  Marlys Warland Lauritsen, Frankie (Lora) Lazinski, Amanda Green, Peter Green and Debbie (Josh) Nachtigal; sister, Peggy (Doug) Rode, brother Leonard  (Sandy) Warland; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is proceeded in death by his parents and sister Mary Troop.
