Lakers Drop Homecoming Contest To Hilltoppers

After jumping out to a 7-0 lead over the Glenwood City Hilltoppers Friday night the Lakers self-imploded the rest of the way as the Hilltoppers ran away with a 34-7 win in Turtle Lake’s annual Homecoming contest. Following the 10-play scoring drive to open the game the Lakers fumbled their next possession away, committed a costly penalty that ultimately forced a punt on the ensuing possession, fumbled away the ball on their next possession and tossed an interception as time ran out in the half to find themselves down 28-7 at the break. The Hilltoppers were able to push across a final score late in the fourth quarter as they grabbed the win.  SEE COMPLETE STORY IN THE TIMES OR READ ONLINE WITH PAID SUBSCRIPTION.
