Turtle Lake Museum To Open For The 2026 Season
It’s time to visit the Turtle Lake Museum and remember our history. The United States of America was founded 250 years ago. At that time, our area was covered by tall pine forests. There were pristine lakes, diverse plants and animals, and a large population of native people. Fur trappers came later followed by loggers. The building of the railroad accelerated logging and eventually led to farmers coming to the cleared land. See what happened next by checking out the exhibits at the museum.
The Museum opens on June 13th and is located in the old Lampert’s Lumber Yard at 232 Willow Street. The all-volunteer staff looks forward to telling you about Turtle Lake’s past, and showing you fun photos and interesting objects from the area.
The Museum will be open the 2nd and 3rd weekends of the month from June through September. Admission is free, donations are gratefully accepted. If you have a special event such as a class or family reunion that falls on a day when the Museum isn’t normally open, contact Dave Skrupky at 715-986-2547 to arrange a special tour.
