Alison Leslie Named MWC Performer of the Week
Ripon freshman Alison Leslie has been named Midwest Conference Women’s Basketball Performer of the Week after helping Ripon win both of their games last week, en route to clinching the team’s third consecutive MWC Championship.
A Biology major from Clayton, Wis., Leslie averaged 29 points per game during the week, scorching the nets with a field goal percentage of 63 percent (19-30), while also shooting 64 percent (14-22) from 3-point range, and making all six of her free throws. In Tuesday’s win against Lake Forest, Leslie scored a game-high 31 points, which is tied for the ninth-highest single game scoring output in program history. She made seven three-pointers in both games, which is tied for second in program history, while also averaging three rebounds and two steals per game.
As the Red Hawks prepare to host the MWC Tournament for the third consecutive year, Leslie leads all of Division-III in 3-point percentage (.500), while ranking 24th in D-III in 3-pointers made per game with a conference-best 2.8. She also ranks second in the MWC and 67th in the natioin in field goal percentage (.506).
