Quade Family Tradition Keeps Going

Turtle Lake/Clayton  sophomore 126# wrestler, Mason  Quade, qualified for the 2021 Division 3 Wrestling Sectional with a second place finish last weekend at the Regional Tournament. Mason, 10-2 on the season, will head to St. Croix Falls Saturday for an opportunity to represent Turtle Lake/ Clayton at the State Tournament Saturday, February 13.
Mason is a third generation family member to earn a Sectional berth. Quade’s grandfather, Dave Quade, represented Turtle Lake with Sectional appearances in 1971 and 1972 after capturing Regional crowns in both years. At that time there was only one division in the sport of wrestling.
Mason’s father, BJ, also earned his way into the Sectional Tournament with a second place finish in 1998 and Regional crowns in 1999 and 2000. In 2000 BJ placed second at Sectionals and advanced to the State Tournament.
Mason’s brother, Tyler, also made his way to Sectionals with second place finishes in both 2016 and 2017.
