ON TO SECTIONALS

 The Lakers celebrate near mid-court after being presented the WIAA Division 3 Regional Championship plaque Saturday evening, on the local floor, after defeating the Frederic Vikings 61-52 in the third meeting for these two teams this season. The Lakers, a #1-seed for the tournament, will match up against the #2-seeded Drummond Lumberjacks Thursday evening, March 12 in Spooner in the opening round of Sectional play. Drummond advanced to Sectionals by defeating #15 Lac Courte Oreilles, 62-20, #7 Bruce, 64-25, and #3 Webster, 50-43. The winner will meet the winner of #5-seeded Rib Lake vs. #3-seeded Prentice for the chance at playing in the State tournament. The Sectional final game will be Saturday, March 14, at 7:00 p.m., in Altoona.
