TODD R. RICHTER

Todd Raymond Richter, 51, of Comstock, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on June 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Todd was born on March 31, 1975, in Cumberland, Wisconsin, to Merlin and Jeanne (Knutson) Richter. He was raised in Comstock and graduated from Turtle Lake High School, where he excelled academically while participating in football, basketball, and baseball. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he proudly served as an equipment manager for the Badger football team and formed lifelong friendships. Following graduation, he worked at the Chicago Board of Trade before returning home to northwest Wisconsin.
On February 28, 2006, Todd married Demil Turgeson. Together they devoted twenty-five years to raising their sons, Jack and John, and creating a family life rich with faith, hard work, traditions, and memories on Richter Ranch.
Todd established an insurance and investments business before transitioning into the construction industry, where he helped build and renovate schools throughout the Midwest. He worked for more than a decade as a Project Manager with Johnson Controls before joining Nexus Solutions, Inc., where he advanced to Director of Construction Management Services, West Region. He was respected for his leadership, integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to build lasting relationships.
Above all, Todd was a devoted father. Whether playing cards or board games at home, cheering on Jack and John at sporting events, boating and fishing on Pipe Lake, deer hunting, or traveling together, he treasured every moment with his sons.
Todd embraced life with enthusiasm. His unmistakable laugh was often heard long before he came into view. He loved the annual co-ed softball tournament in Radisson, elk hunting trips to Colorado, Saturday morning golf with the Pipe Lake crew, and gathering with lifelong friends. He was generous with his time and resources. He had a great sense of humor and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Todd is survived by Demil Richter; his beloved sons, Jack and John Richter; his father, Merlin (Linda) Richter of Comstock; his sister, Gwen (David) Lamont of Turtle Lake; his brothers, Matthew (Amanda) Richter of Cumberland and Eric (Alissa) Richter of Scandia, Minnesota; along with nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Marie Knutson Richter.
Visitation will be held at First Lutheran Church in Cumberland on Sunday, July 12th from 4:00-7:00 PM and from 12:00-1:00 PM prior to the service. The memorial service will be held at 1:00 on Monday, July 13th with Pastor Tim Schmidt officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service from 2:00-5:00 at County Line Tavern, Comstock.
In keeping with Todd’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery, Turtle Lake.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Eyad Al-Hattab, the oncology team, physicians, nurses at Mayo Clinic, and Debb Hallingstad and the nursing team at Cumberland Healthcare for their compassionate care throughout Todd’s courageous five-year cancer journey.
