Downtown Planters Get Makeover
The downtown planters recently got a winter facelift when the Turtle Lake Garden Club (TLGC) replaced the flowers. The all-natural winter design theme utilizes plant materials found locally in members yards, fields, woods and ditches. Some of the materials were spray painted for a pop of color. This is only one of the fun activities that the TLGC gets involved in. This winter the club will be meeting several times to create garden related crafts to be sold at the annual plant sale. There will also be a field trip to the Como Conservatory in St. Paul in February. If anyone is interested in joining the TLGC in their adventures, feel free to contact Laura Nackerud 651-560-6973. You do not need to know anything about gardening to join…it’s a great place to learn from others.
