Memorial Day Services

Memorial Day events were held world-wide Monday to honor and pay respect for all the service men and woman, past and present, who have bravely defended their nation. In Turtle Lake the local Donalds-Hyklema Post 7848 American Legion members traveled to a number of area cemeteries to pay their respects with a gun salute, a prayer and the playing of taps. Pictured above are American Legion members at boat landing on Upper Turtle Lake. The members started the day with an opening celebration at the Turtle Lake Village Park before continuing their travels to Bethany Cemetery, St. Charles Cemetery, Moon Lake Cemetery, St. Ann’s Cemetery, Lakeview Cemetery and the wayside boat landing.
